Summer to Fall Transition

Don't put away your spring/summer clothing away too soon! Better yet, with a few basic staples you can transition all your clothing for the colder months. For example, you can use summer pieces such as shorts, skirts, short sleeve shirts, tank tops, dresses, and more! Add some fall pieces to the mix such as scarves, tights, leggings, boots, long sleeves shirts, cardigans & sweaters, coats, jackets- and you will have double the wardrobe! The key to this is layering. I've done a blog post on this subject previously. So if you need more ideas check that post out at, http://etceterablogmagazine.blogspot.com/2010/08/luxe-layering.html.

Here I have a cute summer tunic paired with some sandals, a cute tote bag, flip flops and sunglasses...let's see how we can transition this look for fall!
Transition #1: I've used the same summer tunic and paired it with an oversized cardigan; which is very popular this season- skinny jeans, ankle booties, and an oversized tote (which you could have used the same bag but I like this one too, lol). Seems like a lot but if you think about it the booties are appropriate for spring/summer and so are the skinny jeans- so the only fall item we've added is the oversized cardigan. Easy, right?!?

Transition #2: Again, we are using the same summer tunic but this time we are pairing it a cropped jacket, tights, and some knee high boots! If you think the green jacket is too much you can always use a black jacket and switch out the plain dark tights for some other opague tights. Remember, whenever you are wearing black and white you should use a pop of color somewhere to spice it up! So the fall pieces in this option are the jacket, tights, and boots!
Transition #3: Summer skirts and tanks can be added with a sweater, blazer, jacket, or coat; scarf, and tights.

Transition #4: Shorts and a short sleeve shirt- sandals, sunglasses and a studded bag are easily transitioned for fall by adding a leather biker jacket, boots, and tights! Tada! Perfection!

I want all of the pieces in the transition #3 look. Where can I get them? Not sure these birthing hips could pull off that striped skirt though. :)
