FALSE EYELASHES
Of course every girlie girl loves make-up, and I personally like to wear it all the time no matter where I'm going- even to the grocery store! Make-up enhances your natural beauty and it gives you so much confidence! Sometimes I don't feel like making up my whole face so the most important areas to focus on when you are rushing is your eyes and lips. I always wear lip gloss and mascara! The eyes are so important which brings me to the next trend of the century! FALSE LASHES! OMG I love lashes- they are so neccessary ladies! Celebrities have really taken an interest in this hot trend; to name a few...Jennifer Lopez who wears $1,000 mink lashes, Kim Kardashian, Michelle Obama, Sara Jessica Parker, Oprah who has over 200 pair of lashes, Madonna wears diamond dusted lashes!

I personally love lashes because you do not need mascara once they are applied! That saves me so much time when doing my make-up. Speaking of time, applying the lashes takes some expertise. So please make sure you know what you are doing before you apply them. I've attached a video below. But even before you apply, of course you need to know the basics of purchasing lashes which is a hard task- so I wanted to give my readers some insight to eliminate the frustrations of buying lashes!
There are so many options to get lavish lashes (most expensive to most affordable):
Eyelash Implants (Permanent)- expensive, procedure done by a surgeon; cost thousands of dollars
Semi Permanent- last for two weeks; for those who wear false lashes daily; $245 and $65 re-fill/touch up; procedure takes 1-2 hours; refill 45 minutes- 1 hr. ; individual synthetic lashes are bonded with a medical grade glue to your own eyelash. The lashes are different lengths- natural to dramatic lash line; cannot wet eyelashes for 24 hours.
Mink lashes (few hundred to thousands)
Individual Syntheic lashes ($10 and up)
Full Syntheic strip eyelashes ($10 and up)
I personally like wearing full strip lahses because they are easiest to apply. However, individual lashes are also an awesome choice because you can use them to fill in your eye lashes by putting them in certain places such as at the far corners of your lashes to create a dramatic look. Basically with the individual lashes you do not have to committ to covering your entire lash line. Me and my girl Sheena got our lashes done at the MAC counter and a nail salon where they apply individual lashes with a special glue; it lasts for approximately 2 weeks. It usually costs around $20 which is affordable! This is an excellent choice however, after time your eyelashes tend to get a lil thin. So if you go with this option you need to focus on proper removal.
When chosing your lashes remember to get black or dark brown! Anything other than this will look fake...lol! Remember this quote, “Natural in an Unnatural Way!” Also, follow your natural line of your own lashes…do not make them shorter or longer or it looks unnatural. The key is fullness not length. This is a rule you can break though depending on what you are wearing and where you are going. See the below chart to see when it's appropriate to wear longer lahses. To apply the lashes I use DUO Eyelash Adhesive. This is the only brand I use because it holds the lashes really well but at the same time, it does not take a lot to remove!
Some popular brands to remember (click the brand to go to their official website):
MAC
Ardell
Sephora
Revlon
DUO Eyelash Adhesive- this is the only brand I use for the adhesive.
Here are a few products that will help enhance your natural lashes:
Revita Lash Eyelash Conditioner
Latisse
Although having these lashes does the trick, you may not want to use them. Another option is to buy a really good brand of mascara. So I've also researched the most popular brands. Click on each brand below to check them out or purchase:
Lancome Definicils High Definition- lengthens lashes with minimum clumping. $25
Maybelline Full n’ Soft- $7
Dior Diorshow Backstage Makeup Mascara- $24 gives most volume with one coat.
CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Blasting Mascara $7
Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express $6
L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara $7
THREADING
Lashes are only one part of having dramatic eyes! Eyebrows are also very important to your overall look! But waxing and plucking are so old school! Threading is the new trend these days. Threading is an ancient Indian and Middle Eastern practice of facial hair removal! It’s extremely precise for better shaping and it enhances your eyes! The technician twists a piece of thread (cotton) into a double strand- and its used to pick up a line of hair and remove it. It takes about 5-7 minutes. It sounds painful but its less painful than waxing and tweezing by far! Its pulled directly from the root so it lasts longer, between 4-6 weeks! This new trend costs $20 or less depending on the salon. So get with the program ladies and graduate to threading!
